Jan made a presentation at the Haas School of Business, University of California - Berkeley's Industrial Ecology 2000 conference October 5-8, 2000 on the subject of Dynamic Supply Chain Optimization.

He gave a brief overview of the BIOSgroup high-dimensional Matching Engine for supply chain optimization. This application embodies new capabilities never before available: The new mathematics of dynamic, computer-assisted optimization across many trade dimensions and Internet-enabled e-commerce.

This high-dimensional dynamic optimization comes directly from the new science of complexity theory. While this application may seem unfamiliar, or even strange by today's standards, it is expected to become commonplace over time because any pair of partners using this technique will BOTH become more profitable.
